March's Very Late Ipsy Bag Review

Its been a crazy few weeks here in the Johnson Household .
3 B-days , doctors appts and sickness throughout and some crappy crappy Lupus Flares.

I am glad that April is over!
with that said I jumped on here to  review my ipsy Bag for the month and realized i never posted March's review ! (SMH)

March's Ipsy Theme
#ipsytresjolie- Pretty is as pretty does!

The bag itself was a gorgeous pink / black  with a flip down  design like a trendy clutch bag.

I love it ! It already has a place in my purse..

1st product  full size tapered blending brush from the brand @Beau Gachis* $12.00
What it claims to Do- What it does
  • The curved tip works equally well for applying or blending out shadow.
  • Contour much? This baby’s petite size is choice for dusting highlighter on cheekbones or making your nose look teeny tiny.
  • Fluffy enough for powder formulas, but compact enough for creams, it’ll get the job done no matter what kind of shadow you select. (Get you a brush who can do both.)
I have a few brushes from this brand I really like them.

 2nd product was a Blush
from the brand @Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics*
In the shade Kitty Pink $14.00
What it claims to Do-What it does

  • This dusty peach shade looks gorgeous on any and every skin tone. Seriously! Try it on all your friends.
  • It’s perfectly blendable and buildable, so you can pack it on for more concentrated color or dust on softly for a sheer finish.
  • A long-lasting formula means cheeks will stay rosy all day long (because ain’t nobody got time to reapply).
This is a beautiful blush shade and I agree it looks great on any skin tone .

3rd product is a sample size lip paint from the brand @Tarte* in the shade-  Delish $20.00
What it claims to do-What it does
  • Vegan-friendly, this brand defines eco-chic.
  • Whether you want bright and bold or nice and neutral, there’s a shade for that.
  • A precision applicator makes even crazy colors easy to apply without drawing outside the lines.
  • The velvet matte finish nails all of our Goldilocks criteria; neither too matte, nor too glossy.
  • An extra coat can change the whole look and pump up the color dramatically, always a nice option when you’re going from day to night.
This is a gorgeous shade it is highly pigmented .  This is something I would re purchased.

4th product is a Full size  Eye Liner
from the brand @ModelCo* $14.00

What it claims to do-What it does
  • inky, jet black formula glides on
  • no tugging or dragging.
  •  long-wearing, water-resistant formula No  smudge, budge, or transfer.
**So my product did nothing like the claims above, Mine wasn't even a dark black I think that mine was a dud . I tried to give it a few tries but didn't perform at all. I would like to try this again . I heard that Ulta will be carrying this brand soon so i will have to check it out .

5th product is a sample size of Moisturizer
from the brand @First Aid Beauty* $24.00
What it claims to do-What It Does
  •  formulated in a lightweight complexion-friendly version.
  •  free of,  parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs, and triclosan.
  • Colloidal oatmeal soothes itchiness,
  • Shea butter and avocado oil add heavy hits of hydration
  • Added antioxidants help fight free radicals for even more skin-saving benefits.
**This is a brand that I have tried before and really like I didn't see a whole lot of results but I know that it takes time . The formula wasn't heavy and didn't make my face feel greasy .

That was my bag let's move on to Jayedyn's

1st product was a full size -  brow liner
from the brand @EyeKo
in the shade Light -Medium $22.00

What it claims to do-What It Does
  • Liquid liner for browse, enhances  in just a few strokes.
  •  felt tip , liquid formula
  •  doubles as eyeliner too.

***This was a dud product  the color was gray and runny . Not something to use on your brows .
Dud Product -

2nd product was a sample -Mild Cleanser from the brand @NEOGEN $44.86 (On Amazon)
What it claims to do-What It Does
  •  coconut oil cleanser form , softens, brightens, and hydrates skin.
  • This formula transforms from creamy to sudsy!
  • It completely cleans your complexion, without leaving it feeling stripped.
  • It works for all skin types
3rd product was a sample size- body mousse
from the brand @Cake Beauty $55.00

What it claims to do-What It Does
  •  whipped  airy texture,  light and dreamy, does not leave you feeling  greasy.
  • The tropical scent, a combo of vanilla and coconut
  • Ingredients like coconut oil and mango seed butter quench even the driest skin with the moisture it needs.
**This smells like summer It isn't kidding when you can smell the coconut scent .
It is amazing and yes, I would buy the full size.
It doesn't make you feel greasy or gross after.

4th product is a sample size- Lip paint from the brand @Tarte in the shade- Delish

*This is just like mine, down to the shade color .
Jayedyn Gave it to me , she tends to  like darker colors

5th product is a mini sample of -Disappearing ink 4 in one Concealer
 from the brand @PUR
 in the shade Medium $23.00

What it claims to do-What It Does
  • this has a unique “Diamond Complex” to reflect light away from imperfections.
  •  full of good-for-your-skin ingredients
  • There’s no need for multiple concealers;  dark circles, pimples, spots are all covered .
** She hasn't used this product yet so I can't review it. She did swatch it on her hand and it seemed like it would cover . We will have to see.

So this was all the products we received in our bags for the month

 My Favorites -
the bag itself,  my Tarteist Lip Paint , The Brush and the moisturizer.

Jayedyn's Favorites
(since most of her products were crappy/broken. )
She  liked her bag and the Body Mousse
She loved the Theme of the bag. She is taking French so anything that has to do with that it's an automatic like for her.
I was going to add April's bag with this blog but decided to add it separately.

Lupus thoughts and Ramblings June 25th

Hey there.  I hope you are staying safe and sane in this crazy world.  It's a lot to stomach for anyone. I can't go crazy.  I already am!        Serious question? When do you tell your family that their joking around has become hurtful?  It's to the point where I feel like I am in high school again, trying to compete for their love and attention. I am 45 yrs old and feel like I am treated like a child at times. I am told that I am too sensitive and that I take things out of context, that I should just take it, and know they are playing.  Every night it's a roast the hell outta mom till she cries or locks herself in the bathroom so no one would see.  it's not like anyone would care to be honest.  I could cry for hours and no one would even flinch.  When did I become invisible, and so small that it doesn't matter if I am even around?  I am ignored when I am trying to be a mother, I am ignored when I try to let people know ho...

Let's talk showers

Let's talk showers  No, not the kind that falls from the sky when it rains. No, not meteors, but regular showers people take to keep clean. A regular person is in the shower up to 5-10 mins maybe 15 at the most. Well for someone with Lupus, MS and Fibromyalgia it's so much longer. For instance, it took me almost an hour to shower the other day. Why is this you ask? Well, I can barely stand on my own, and do things like lift my hands to shampoo my hair without being so exhausted I have to sit down.  So it begins, the clock ticking away. *10 mins gone * sitting down. Once I finally can I stand back up and commence the ritual of the shower  but wait, after *10 more mins* I need to take a breath before I pass out (literally) it takes sitting down and breathing slowly to make it not feel like my heart is going to leap out of my chest.  I look at my handy dandy Fossil smartwatch and it says my BPM is 140 which I believe.  I try to slow down my breathing, a...

ESSENCE MAKEUP REVIEW

Makeup can be high end and really expensive or drugstore and very budget friendly.  Just because a drugstore brand is budget friendly doesn't mean it is bad quality. Right? Recently while perusing my local Ulta store with Jayedyn                      (on the hunt for a blue eye liner )  after looking at all the different brands from Urban Decay, Ulta , Nyx etc. and coming up empty and disappointed we were ready to walk away when i suggested one more look . Tucked away on an end cap of the isle was a small product line. I had never even looked at this brand before but sitting on the shelf was the perfect blue shade of eyeliner that Jayedyn was searching for & on a 15 yr old girls budget too. I started to take a closer look at some of the products . The nail polish is what  drew me in, the colors were so pretty, it also looked like there were a few dupes for some high end products as well. I ended ...
